Since their establishment in 1996, the 16 Fonds régional FTQ have participated actively in economic development in each region of Quebec. As of June 30, 2009, the Fonds régionaux’s portfolio regrouped 295 investment business partners for a total worth of approximately $176 million in projects totaling $664 million, bringing the number of jobs created and maintained to over 13 831. The Fonds régional contributes, in the form of equity, loans and investments of up to $2 million dollars. These contributions are primarily awarded to growing businesses and organizations that are planning to commercialize a product or that are planning an acquisition or merger.
