RICHMOND HILL, Ontario, Canada—November 25, 2010: PCI Geomatics, a world leading developer of geo-imaging software and systems, has announced it was awarded a contract to deliver a GeoImaging Accelerator (GXL) Satellite processing system to a key customer in the Asia Pacific region. The $700,000 (USD) contract represents a major win for PCI Geomatics as it continues to bolster and solidify its presence in Asia and on the world stage.
The GXL system includes support for a set of specific sensors used by the customer, demonstrating PCI’s commitment to supporting new and improved satellite sensors as they are launched and begin to produce imagery. PCI Geomatics has delivered a GXL-Satellite system to this customer that integrates locally procured off-the-shelf hardware with PCI’s GeoImaging Accelerator-Satellite high volume multi-CPU/GPU production software. The initial phase of the delivery was completed in October 2010, with an additional phase to be delivered in early 2011. The complete system will enable the customer to transform uncorrected Level 1 frame based data from multiple satellite sensors into thousands of orthorectified and mosaicked products on a monthly basis.
The adoption of PCI’s GXL software by companies across the globe proves the viability of this technology for the company as it invests more heavily in its development. PCI Geomatics has delivered other GXL systems to numerous customers in North America, Europe and Asia.
Brad Schmidt, VP of Sales and Marketing at PCI Geomatics commented on the announcement: “We are pleased to have won this important contract for our GXL-Satellite technology, which was selected above all others in an international competitive bidding process. We believe that this win speaks to the state of the art products developed by PCI Geomatics, and the value our technology brings to customers to help address operational production challenges."
